Monorail Stops Provide Access to Start and Finish Lines for Races
During Strip Closures
Once again, the Las Vegas Monorail will be the only Strip transportation option available during the 2018 Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon & ½ Marathon. The Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon & ½ Marathon event gives participants a one-of-a-kind nighttime running experience as the only private event to close Las Vegas Boulevard at night. The largest event on the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series tour will take place on the Las Vegas Strip at night on Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 10 – 11, 2018.
Year after year, thousands of runners and spectators attend the Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon & ½ Marathon and its four days of events, relying upon the Monorail for getting to and from the start and finish lines of the weekend’s races. The Monorail also has a station at the Las Vegas Convention Center, which is the site of the events three-day Health & Fitness Expo, held on Thursday – Saturday, Nov. 8 – 10. As the most efficient and cost-effective way to navigate the Strip during race weekend, the Monorail offers discounts up to 25 percent for multi-day passes purchased prior to Thursday, Nov. 1, making it even easier to ride.

Strip closures begin as early as 9 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11. Roads re-open as runners clear, though the finish line section will not re-open until 2 a.m.
Marathon runners and spectators may purchase exclusive discounted Monorail passes online at https://tix.lvmonorail.com/rnr2018. Single rides start at $5, with a 25-percent discount applying to all advance purchases by Thursday, Nov. 1 of multi-use passes ranging from 2 to 7 days of unlimited travel. Beginning Friday, Nov. 2, runners and spectators can save $4 off a 2-day pass and $5 off a 3-day pass at that link.
A variety of other “Runner Perks” are also being offered to participants at properties along the Monorail’s route, ranging from special ticket prices on Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil at Mandalay Bay, to 20-percent off any meal at Giada at Cromwell, to free bouquet upgrades on all wedding and vow renewal packages from Vegas Weddings.
