THE UNDERGROUND SPEAKEASY AND DISTILLERY AT THE MOB MUSEUM ANNOUNCES OCTOBER PROMOTIONS AND PROGRAMS

The Underground, the Prohibition history exhibition at The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement featuring a speakeasy and distillery, announces special promotions, programs and events for October.

Bar Exam Happy Hour with Former Mayor Oscar B. Goodman, Tuesdays, October 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Each week, former Mayor Oscar Goodman will host the Bar Exam Happy Hour, where guests put their knowledge to the test with a written trivia quiz.  Attendees are also invited to ask the former mayor questions. Special drink promotions will be available and the event is free with the password, “tell ‘em the mayor sent you.”

Jazz Nights, Saturdays, 7 – 11 p.m. Jazz returns to The Underground with performances by Jonathan Karrant and the return of The Kai Brant Duo. Song stylist Karrant will captivate audiences with songs from the American songbook during his performances. For more information on Karrant, please click here. The Kai Brant Duo combines American jazz and blues influences with British trip-hop bands to perform jazz, blues and select pop classics. National Pizza and Beer Day, Tuesday, Oct. 9, 9 a.m. to midnight. Guests visiting The Underground Speakeasy will enjoy a house-made 9-inch cheese pizza and select draft beers for $8.

The MIXT&PE: A Copper & Kings Brandy Event, Monday, Oct. 29, 6 to 9 p.m. Join the Museum’s Food and  Beverage Director Clint Thoman for an evening of curated music and inspired brandy cocktails featuring Copper & Kings American Brandy.

Halloween at The Underground, Wednesday, Oct. 31, 8 p.m. winner announcement. Flappers and mobsters—and anyone else donning a Halloween costume—are welcome to celebrate this most haunted of holidays at The Underground. Prizes will be awarded and attendees will enjoy 50 percent off the Corpse Reviver #2 cocktail (gin, Cura­çao, Lillet, lemon, absinthe) from 5 p.m. to close. 

National Applejack Month, Celebrate National Applejack Month with applejack cocktail specials throughout October. Cocktail offerings include the Jack Rose (applejack, lemon juice, grenadine), Sidecar (applejack, lemon juice, orange liqueur), Honeymoon (applejack, orange liqueur, Benedictine, lemon juice) and Applejack Old Fashioned (cinnamon-infused applejack, simple syrup, bitters). All applejack cocktails will be available for $5 during Happy Hour.

Reverse Happy Hour, Sunday through Thursday, 10 p.m. to midnight. Spend late nights in The Underground speakeasy while enjoying 20 percent off select Prohibition-inspired cocktails, draft beer and wines by the glass. Also available are non-alcoholic beverages and the seasonal Zap-on-Tap, a collaboration between Zappos and The Underground.

The Underground Distillery Presentation, Thursday through Saturday, hourly from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors are invited to attend a 10-minute presentation on the distillation process and moonshine sampling experience. They will have an up-close view of the 60-gallon, artisan copper-pot still. All ages are welcome to attend the presentation, but guests must be 21 or older to sample the moonshine. Distillery presentations are free with general Museum admission.
