Las Vegas 51s Host Fresno Grizzlies & El Paso Chihuahuas in 7-Game Homestand April 17th – 23rd

 

 

The Las Vegas 51s PROFESSIONAL baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, will open a seven-game homestand on Tuesday, April 17 against the Fresno Grizzlies, Triple-A affiliate of the 2017 World Series champion Houston Astros, at Cashman Field at 7:05 p.m. The four-game series will conclude on Friday, April 20 (all games at 7:05 p.m.). Las Vegas will then host the El Paso Chihuahuas, Triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres, in a three-game series from Saturday-Monday, April 21-23. Game times for the three-game series are 7:05 p.m. on Saturday (April 21) and Monday (April 23) and a matinee contest on Sunday, April 22. The first scheduled off day for the PCL is Tuesday, April 24.

 

The 51s, under first-year manager Tony DeFrancesco, are currently on a seven-game road trip (2-3 record) that will conclude in El Paso, Texas against the Chihuahuas on Monday, April 16.

The 51s organization have the proud distinction of being the longest enduring franchise in the history of professional sports in the state of Nevada.

 

2018 CASHMAN FIELD ATTENDANCE: In dates, Las Vegas total is 30,685 for an average of 6,137. The season-high crowd through the first homestand was 8,038 for Star Wars Night vs. El Paso on April 7. The Las Vegas franchise has reached the 300,000 mark in “home” attendance in all 35 seasons (1983-2017). The all-time attendance total now stands at 11,699,472.

MiLB Es Divertido Ser Un Fan – “It’s Fun To Be A Fan Campaign!” The 51s will transform to the Las Vegas Reyes de Plata (“Silver Kings”) eight times during the 2018 season at Cashman Field. The opening game of the homestand on Tuesday, April 17 will feature the first game as Reyes de Plata!  The remaining dates are: Tuesday, May 8, May 15, May 29, June 5, July 24, August 21, August 28.

MiLB (on July 24, 2017) launched Es Divertido Ser Un Fan, a new multi-cultural fan engagement platform aimed at specifically connecting with Hispanic/Latino baseball fans in 160 markets throughout the U.S. and Canada. The program debuted in August, 2017 in select MiLB markets, including Las Vegas, Charlotte, North Carolina; Kane County, Illinois; and Visalia, California, with national expansion in the 2018 season. The Las Vegas Reyes de Plata will take the field celebrating the city and state’s pioneering history at the forefront of the precious metal mining business that continues to define the Silver State today.

 

Budweiser Dollar Beer Night will be presented in game three of the four-game series against Fresno on Thursday, April 19. Dollar Beer Night will be featured at every Thursday home game during the 2018 season. Proper identification and wristbands are required for dollar beer night.

 

A spectacular post-game Fireworks Show, presented by Findlay Toyota, will be featured in the finale of the series on Friday, April 20. The “Fireworks” shows will be featured at every Friday home game throughout the 2018 campaign.

 

The opener of the three-game series vs. El Paso on Saturday, April 21 will feature 51s Quarter Zip Pullover Night, to the first 2,500 fans through the gates, on Light the Night for LLS.

 

Little League Day #2/SUNdays at the Ballpark, presented by Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada and Bark in the Park, presented Subaru of Las Vegas & Wag N’ Wash, will be featured in the matinee contest on Sunday, April 22 at 12:05 p.m. Selected 51s players will be available to sign pre-game autographs for the Little League teams in attendance. In addition, all children will have the opportunity to “Run the Bases” after the contest (with proper shoe attire). Bark in the Park participants will have seating available in the left and right field berms.

 

The finale of the seven-game homestand on April 23 will feature “Smith’s Value Menu Monday.”  Monday “home” games will feature a “Value Menu” for the 10th straight season! The 51s and Centerplate have teamed together for discounted food items on Hot Dogs, Popcorn, Peanuts, Cracker Jack, Pretzels and Churros for just $1.00 per item.

 

WestStar Credit Union “Winning Wednesday” will be featured SEVEN times during the 2018 season. The dates are:April 18 vs. Fresno; May 2 vs. Sacramento; May 9 vs. Fresno; June 6 vs. New Orleans; July 25 vs. Nashville; August 22 vs. Salt Lake; August 29 vs. Tacoma.

 

If the 51s WIN, fans can redeem their tickets for a future Sunday through Tuesday “home” game (excluding Tuesday, July 3 – Fireworks Extravaganza). In addition, each “WestStar Winning Wednesday,” one lucky fan will also be randomly selected to be the WestStar Winner of the Game! The winning fan will receive an autographed baseball from a 51s player, a seat upgrade for their group, and the opportunity to become the guest PA announcer for a half-inning that night!

Fresno’s roster features one of the top 10 prospects in the Astros organization, according to Baseball America: outfielderKyle Tucker (No. 2)

El Paso’s roster features one of the top 10 prospects in the Padres organization, according to Baseball America: second baseman/shortstop Luis Urias (No. 6).

El Paso has captured three straight Pacific Southern Division titles (2015-17) and won the PCL championship in 2016, defeated Oklahoma City Dodgers, 3-games-to-1.

Following the homestand & off day on Tuesday, April 24, the 51s will embark on a brief five-game road trip to Albuquerque, N.M., beginning on Wednesday, April 25. The series against the Isotopes, Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, will conclude on Sunday, April 29.

The 51s will broadcast all games on Lotus Broadcasting on NBC Sports Radio AM 920 ‘THE GAME’, which will carry live all 140 regular season games. Also, all games will be available on the 51s website (Major League Baseball Advanced Media, MLBAM) at www.LV51.comRuss Langer, the 10-time Nevada Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA), is in his 19th season behind the microphone calling 51s baseball.

Tickets for all 51s home games can be purchased at the SCE Federal Credit Union Box Office at Cashman Field. The box office is open Monday-Friday (non-game days) from Noon to 4:30 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased through Ticketmaster (1-800-745-3000, www.ticketmaster.com).

The individual game tickets for the 70-game home season are priced at $11.00 (reserved, $12.00-Day of Game); $14.00(plaza, $15.00-Day of Game) and $17.00 (field, $18.00-Day of Game) & the blue dugout seats at $30.00 ($35-Day of Game). The traditional $2.00 discount for Military personnel is offered on plaza, field and reserved seats throughout the season.
