The UNLV men’s basketball team (19-10, 8-8 MW) will host intrastate rival No. 21 UNR in its regular-season home finale on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 8 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center. The Governor’s Series game will also be Senior Night as the Runnin’ Rebels will honor senior guards Jordan Johnson and Jovan Mooring prior to the game.

It will be a RED OUT with the first 3,000 fans receiving a free red t-shirt. All fans are encouraged to wear red to the rivalry game. A free pregame tailgate will be held starting at 6 p.m. on the plaza outside the Thomas & Mack Center. In addition, the first 300 fans into the arena will receive a $5 concessions voucher.

The Clark County Commission, the City of Las Vegas and UNLV have all declared Wednesday as Rebel Red Day in Southern Nevada.

Tickets may be purchased at UNLVtickets.com, by calling 702-739-FANS (3267) or by visiting the Thomas & Mack Center Box Office. Fans are encouraged to get in their seats early for the Senior Salute as well as to experience the enhanced Runnin’ Rebel pregame show for the season’s final time, which features 3D Video Projection Mapping.

UNLV is looking to end a three-game losing streak. The Runnin’ Rebels are coming off a heartbreaking loss at New Mexico (90-91) on Sunday afternoon, in which they missed three shots in the closing seconds. In its meeting earlier this season, UNLV defeated then-No. 23 UNR in Reno, 86-78, on Feb. 7. It snapped the Wolf Pack’s 16-game home win streak and was UNLV’s first win over a ranked team since 2015.

Prior to its loss at San Diego State on Feb. 17, the Runnin’ Rebels had won three straight games and five of their previous six, including the victory at UNR. UNLV’s three-game win streak marked the first in Mountain West play for the Runnin’ Rebels since 2016 and the stretch of five wins in six games was its first in conference play since 2014.

Wednesday night’s game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network with John Sadak, Dan Dickau and Melanie Collins (sideline) calling the action. Jon Sandler and former Runnin’ Rebel Robert Smith will handle the UNLV radio call, which may be heard live on ESPN Radio 1100 AM/100.9 FM and online via the UNLV Gameday App and TuneIn (link at UNLVRebels.com).
