Forming in 1984, San Francisco-based band Primus is responsible for some of the most cutting-edge rock music of the 1990s. Currently composed of bassist/vocalist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry “Ler” LaLonde and drummer Tim “Herb” Alexander, the band has produced the GRAMMY-nominated classic “Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver,” and other hits such as “Tommy the Cat,” “John the Fisherman” and “Jerry Was A Race Car Driver.” Primus’ ninth studio release The Desaturating Seven marks the return of the band’s original line-up since 1995.
The Atlanta quartet Mastodon, featuring bassist Troy Sanders, guitarists Brent Hinds and Bill Kelliher and drummer Brann Dailo will play some of their biggest songs including tracks from their most recent release, Emperor of Sand. Receiving endorsements from powerhouses like Metallica, Pearl Jam and CeeLo Green, Mastodon have proved their influence with songs like “Curl of the Burl” and their recent GRAMMY-winning metal performance for “Sultan’s Curse.”
