DOWNTOWN GRAND HOTEL & CASINO TAKING IT BACK TO THE STREET WITH LAUNCH OF “THIRD THURSDAY ON 3rd” ON JULY 20, 7PM – 10PM
New 3rd Street Downtown Nighttime Food Truck, Art and Street Fun set to Feature Five Gourmet Food Trucks, a Secret Walls Live Art Competition, DJ, Games and More…
Vince Neil was the first to “Rock the Street” but now the Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino is going to “Treat the Street” with the launch of its first ever “Third Thursday on 3rd” street festival on July 20th from 7pm – 10pm. Designed to feed the soul and the senses, the evening will feature five gourmet food trucks (Truk-N-Yaki, Stripchezze, The Cookie Bar, Cousins Maine Lobster and Waffle Love), a live street art battle from Secret Walls PLUS games, give-a-ways, a DJ and more. The night of food, art, and music is part of the Downtown Grand’s commitment to entertainment on the 3rd street corridor, and this authentic road side affair will bring together some of the best artists and food truck vendors in the valley.
Having already established itself as an artistic force in Downtown Las Vegas, Secret Walls (considered the “Fight Club” of the underground art scene), will make their debut performance at the Downtown Grand with an epic street battle that will result in each of the artists work being installed on the property’s 3rd Street entrance. Inspired by Marvel comics and the graffiti art scene, the evening’s main attraction will be a clash of creative minds, as two Secret Walls artists will be given 90 minutes to leave their inventive impression on the property as they go toe to toe under the 3rd street lights for an all out battle of expressive domination.
While the Secret Walls artists are visually stimulating the minds of all those that have gathered, some of the most beloved food trucks in the city will be satisfying their hunger by serving up their favorite curb side eats. These mobile hunger heroes will include; Truk-N-Yaki, Stripchezze, The Cookie Bar, Cousins Maine Lobster and Waffle Love. Parked and ready to cater to the hungry masses, the trucks will be joined by craft beer offerings from the property’s Freedom Beat, as well as drink specials found throughout the property.
In addition to the art and food offerings, a Secret Walls DJ and MC will keep the vibe fresh, while the Downtown Grand will bring the party to the street with games such as Ping Pong, corn hole, foosball, and Jenga.
“Downtown Las Vegas has a thriving art and culinary scene, and we are excited to activate 3rd Street as yet another great destination for locals and tourists to experience the best that Downtown Las Vegas has to offer,” notes Downtown Grand general manager, Kevin Glass. “The setting here is amazing as you are surrounded by our two hotel towers, the great vintage Downtown Las Vegas skyline and a streetscape that cannot be found anywhere else in the city. We look at this as one of the many new events we will be staging on 3rd Street in the coming months and we are committed to establishing the street as a new hub for arts, entertainment and culinary experiences.”

About Secret Walls:
Secret Walls brought global, and unparalleled live illustration battles to the creative terrain of Shoreditch in 2006. The cool simplicity of a monochrome palette mixed with the invigorating effects of time constraint has proven to be a winning concept. Today, over one thousand shows have been witnessed by the masses in almost every continent. Aspiring artists of all styles and backgrounds contend on the global platform. They’re armed solely with black markers or acrylic paint, with the challenge of filling a large canvas.
