NV Energy to Host New Donation Location in Honor of Military Appreciation Month
Public Invited to Drop off Goods May 1-31, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In honor of Military Appreciation Month, NV Energy will host a Goodwill donation location in the parking lot of its corporate offices at 6226 W. Sahara, Ave. (near S. Jones Blvd.), Las Vegas, NV 89146 during the month of May.
The public is invited to drop off donations at the Goodwill trailer starting Monday, May 1, 2017 through Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A donation ambassador will be on hand to help unload items as well as provide a tax-deductible receipt.
Goodwill sells donations of goods in its retail stores to support no-cost job placement and training programs, like the Veteran Integration Program, that focuses on the specific needs veterans and their family members face when re-entering the workforce. The program is staffed by veterans who know first-hand the challenges veterans face when adjusting to civilian life.
Since inception of the program in 2012, 1,123 local veterans and immediate family members who faced multiple barriers to employment now have jobs at businesses around the valley.
