Goodwill® and IKEA Partner for Earth Day Donation Drive on April 22, 2017
Donors to receive coupon for $20 off a $150 IKEA Purchase
Goodwill and IKEA are teaming up this Earth Day to help IKEA shoppers save on new furniture by donating items to Goodwill. IKEA shoppers who donate furniture or other goods at the drive will receive a coupon for $20 off a $150 IKEA purchase.
The special donation drive will be held this Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the north parking lot of IKEA Las Vegas Home Furnishings, 6500 IKEA Way, Las Vegas, NV 89148 (S. Durango Dr. & W. Sunset Rd.).
The items donated to Goodwill will provide an environmentally responsible end-of-life solution for items that are challenging for consumers to donate, and keep those items out of local landfills while powering the nonprofit’s mission of providing a systemic solution to poverty by helping people find jobs. Goodwill donation ambassadors will also be on hand to help collect donations as well as provide tax-deductible receipts.
“Goodwill is pleased to partner with IKEA on this donation drive in celebration of Earth Day,” said Steve Chartrand, president and CEO of Goodwill of Southern Nevada. “Goodwill believes that a job is the best way to break the cycle of poverty. By donating to this drive, our community is not only protecting the environment through reuse, but funding Goodwill’s job training and placement programs.”
Last year, Goodwill of Southern Nevada diverted more than 26 million pounds of goods from landfills. Revenues from the sale of these goods helped more than 3,000 individuals find sustainable employment and more than 14,000 people receive services, no matter their employment barrier or challenge.
