Pixies and pirates across the valley will soon gather for a night of food, fun and philanthropy during the 26th Annual Chefs for Kids Gala at South Point Hotel, Casino, and Spa on Saturday, May 13. The black-tie optional gala with a Neverland theme supports the nonprofit’s mission to alleviate malnutrition and hunger inchildren through education and awareness.
“For children, Neverland is a magical place where anything is possible, and that’s the spirit we want to evoke during the 26th Annual Chefs for Kids Gala,” said Chef Christopher Johns, Chairman of Chefs for Kids. “Fly away with us and together we can continue on this awfully big adventure providing nutrition education and a warm breakfast for children in southern Nevada.”
The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception and silent auction followed by a gourmet dinner, raffle and live auction beginning at 7 p.m. Guests will then dance the night away with the renowned band Harbor Lights, performing everything from high-energy modern Top 40 hits like Katy Perry’s “California Girls” and Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face,” to Motown hits such as the Temptations “My Girl” and Aretha Franklin’s “Respect.”
During the event, Chefs for Kids will present individual and corporate awards to Michael Severino and The Binion Family Foundation. Severino will receive the Legacy Award for his steadfast support of Chefs for Kids throughout the years. The Binion Family Foundation will receive the Corporate Award for their longstanding commitment to supporting Chefs for Kids programs including Healthy Eating, Cookin’ Up Breakfast, Operation Thanksgiving, and more.
