WHAT:
The Mob Museum, The National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, hosts its next Community Safety Forum on Sunday, December 18 at 2 p.m. Presented by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), the topic of this forum will be Police Stops and Consents to Search. The forum is free to the public and includes free Museum admission, thanks to sponsor NV Energy. Live-streaming of the event will be available on the Museum’s website.
This presentation will cover the laws and procedures governing police stops and consents to search. An LVMPD officer will address all applicable laws, including constitutional, federal, state, county and city. In addition, the difference between the various types police stops conducted—including consensual, reasonable and probable—will be discussed.
