Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall today announced the opening of its newest dining concept, the savory Big Mess Bar-BQ. This genuine smokehouse barbeque restaurant serves up classic American fare with meats smoked in-house, plus classic comfort-food sides.“Big Mess Bar-BQ is everything you would expect from a classic American smokehouse, and more,” said Mark LaVoie, Vice President of Food and Beverage at Boyd Gaming. “From the exceptional flavor of our in-house smoked meats and hand-crafted sides, to the Southern-inspired hospitality our team members show every guest, Big Mess is a delicious taste of the South right here in Las Vegas.”

Located in Sam’s Town’s famous atrium Mystic Falls Park, Big Mess Bar-BQ is a casual, comfortable dining destination that features down-home barbeque goodness in a unique setting. The patio seating offers a fantastic view of Mystic Falls Park and a serene environment, while the spacious dining room offers intimate booths or combinable tables to seat parties of any size. An intimate private dining room is available for parties or special events.

Inspired by down-home Southern barbeque techniques and tastes, the menu features a variety of plates and platters to fit any size of appetite. The main event is the “Messed Up” Bar-BQ platters. All meats are dry-rubbed then smoked in-house in Big Mess’ massive smoker, named “Smokin’ Sam” in honor of Boyd Gaming co-founder Sam Boyd. Meat selections include Texas-style dry-rubbed, smoked beef brisket; Bar-BQ-roasted chicken; Carolina pulled pork shoulder; Bar-BQ-smoked pork spare ribs; and smoked and grilled sausage. Platters are served with cornbread and two sides.

The hand-crafted side dishes include potato salad, sweet potato and classic French fries, mac and cheese, collard greens, hushpuppies and many more barbeque favorites. Appetizers and dessert selections reflect the classic American dining experience, with options like fried green tomatoes, deviled eggs, and three selections of pie: pecan, apple and sweet potato.

Big Mess is the latest debut in Boyd Gaming’s $100 million campaign to reinvigorate property amenities nationwide. For more information on this and other projects, visit www.BoydGaming.com/Amenities.
