Iconic Rock Band REO Speedwagon Brings Classic Hits to The Orleans Showroom Nov. 19-20
REO Speedwagon will perform their legendary songs at The Orleans Showroom on Nov. 19-20.
Formed in 1967, REO Speedwagon got their start performing at fraternity events at the University of Illinois. In 1971, the band secured a deal with Epic Records and went on to release eight albums throughout the 1970’s, including their double-Platinum “You Can Tune a Piano but You Can’t Tuna Fish” in 1978.
REO Speedwagon rapidly rose to the top of the charts, setting the bar for other rock bands with their 1980 album “Hi Infidelity.” The album spent 15 weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200 and sold more than 10 million copies. “Hi Infidelity” produced the #1 single “Keep On Loving You,” as well as the hits “Take It on the Run,” “In Your Letter” and “Don’t Let Him Go.”
In 1984, REO Speedwagon released their 11th studio album entitled “Wheels Are Turnin’,” which included the #1 single “Can’t Fight This Feeling.” The band has continued to produce hits throughout the decades, including 2007’s “Find Your Own Way Home.” Two years later, the band teamed up with fellow Midwestern rockers Styx for the single “Can’t Stop Rockin’,” which later became the title track for the groups’ tour with .38 Special.
The current lineup includes founding member Neal Doughty, lead singer Kevin Cronin, bass player Bruce Hall, guitarist Dave Amato and drummer Bryan Hitt.
