“LIPSHTICK – The Perfect Shade of Stand Up” continues to heat up the Las Vegas entertainment scene with the hottest names in comedy. The series will continue to bring fresh talent and returning favorites to the stage at The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas. Tickets are on sale for all performances through August 2016.
“LIPSHTICK – The Perfect Shade of Stand Up” debuted in 2014 to critical acclaim and was named “Best of Las Vegas” in 2015 by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Series favorites Whitney Cummings, Iliza Shlesinger, Loni Love, Garfunkel and Oates, Lisa Lampanelli, and Cameron Esposito will return this summer, while up-and-coming stars Carly Aquilino, Jamie Lee, and Sasheer Zamata will showcase their comedic chops for the first time on the “LIPSHTICK” stage.
Carly Aquilino (June 25, Sands Showroom) – Carly Aquilino stars in MTV’s “Girl Code” and “Girl Code Live,” where her hysterical opinions and carefree approach to life have made her a household name. Aquilino rang in 2016 with “Girl Code Presents: New Year’s Code in Times Square!” MTV just announced that Aquilino will star in “Guy Code vs. Girl Code,” which will debut on Tuesday, June 28 on MTV2. Jamie Lee (June 25, Sands Showroom) – Named one of the “Top Five Comedians Who Should Be Movie Stars” by Nerve.com and one of the “Top 18 Women You Should Be Following On Twitter” by Huffington Post with more than 200K Twitter followers, Jamie Lee is an undeniable force in the funny biz. She is a cast member on the hit MTV series “Girl Code” appears regularly on comedy panel shows such as “@Midnight,” “Ridiculousness,” and, most recently, Fox’s “World’s Funniest Fails.” MTV just announced that Lee will star in “Guy Code vs. Girl Code,” which will debut on Tuesday, June 28 on MTV2. Whitney Cummings (July 2, Sands Showroom) – “2 Broke Girls” co-creator Whitney Cummings released her HBO stand up special “I’m Your Girlfriend” to widespread critical acclaim. Hailed by The Atlantic for her observations that are “pretty much comedy gold,” Cummings is developing a pilot with HBO based on Maureen Dowd’s book “Are Men Necessary? Iliza Shlesinger (July 9, Sands Showroom) – Iliza Shlesinger became the youngest and only female comedian to win “Last Comic Standing” in 2008. In 2015, she released “Freezing Hot,” an hour-long comedy special exclusively available on Netflix. She has also recorded her own “Comedy Central Presents” special, and appeared on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” “Deal with It,” “Chelsea Lately,” and “The Soup.” Shlesinger recently hosted the TBS game show “Separation Anxiety” and in June 2016 performed at the Elle Women in Comedy Awards. She will next be seen starring as herself in “Forever 31,” a short-form scripted comedy series she created for ABC’s soon-to-be launched digital platform. Garfunkel and Oates (July 23, The Palazzo Theatre) – American comedy-folk duo Garfunkel and Oates (a.k.a. The pair, whose name they say pays homage to “two famous rock ‘n’ roll second bananas,” has been met with popular and critical praise and starred in their own IFC TV series. Lisa Lampanelli (July 30, The Palazzo Theatre) – Comedy’s Lovable Queen of Mean Lisa Lampanelli is best known for her appearances on “Comedy Central Roasts,” where she has used her trademark brand of insult comedy to go after celebrities including Pamela Anderson, David Hasselhoff, and even 2016 Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump, with whom she appeared on “The Celebrity Apprentice.” Lampanelli is taking a chapter from her own life this summer, as she takes a self-penned script to the stage. The fan-favorite comedienne has written “Stuffed,” a play that tackles weight, body image, and food issues from the perspective of four very different women with four very different problems, opening June 25 at The Bay Street Theater in Long Island.
