After releasing their first album in 1980, Survivor debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 the following year with “Poor Man’s Son.” Their big break would come in 1982 when Sylvester Stallone asked the band to create the Rocky III theme song. That hit single, “Eye Of The Tiger,” remained at No. 1 for seven weeks, ultimately winning a Grammy Award, People’s Choice Award and an Academy Award nomination. In Billboard‘s 100th Anniversary issue, “Eye Of The Tiger” charted No. 18 on the “Top 100 Singles” and has sold more than 300,000 downloads on iTunes, where it currently holds strong at No. 9 on the “Top Soundtrack” chart. The band experienced similar success in 1985 with another hit single, “Burning Heart,” which reached No. 2 after appearing on the soundtrack of Rocky IV.  The album VITAL SIGNS, was another huge success, peaking at No. 16 on Billboard’s “Top 200 Albums” chart with three Top 20 hits “I Can’t Hold Back” (No. 13), “High On You” (No. 8) and “The Search Is Over” (No. 4).
