THE ROGERS FOUNDATION NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
FOR $300,000 IN ARTS AND EDUCATION GRANTS

Application Period Open January 18 – March 25, 2016

Southern Nevada’s premier champion of arts and education, The Rogers Foundation, is now accepting applications for $300,000 in new grants. The three grants – each for $100,000 – will be open for submissions until March 25. Applicants can apply directly via The Rogers Foundation’s website at www.therogers.foundation.

The Rogers Foundation designed each grant to uplift Clark County School District (CCSD) children in three distinct areas, naming them Gift of Imagination, Gift of Knowledge and Gift of Assurance. Local CCSD institutions may individually apply for the grants, however any non-CCSD applicants must partner with a CCSD school to be considered. Recipients will be announced at the end of May.

“We encourage schools, teachers, nonprofits and community groups in Southern Nevada to explore our grants and submit their most impactful ideas,” said Beverly Rogers, Chairman of the Board for The Rogers Foundation. “My late husband Jim Rogers had a vision of strengthening and empowering Southern Nevada through arts and education, and we are seeking applicants who share that same devotion.”

On Feb. 8, GrantWell – a UNLV-based administrator of The Rogers Foundation’s grants – will begin hosting online grant writing workshops, which applicants can utilize 24/7 at their own convenience. GrantWell will also conduct in-person seminars, with dates forthcoming.

In addition to the grants, The Rogers Foundation is currently accepting applications for college scholarships, available to local high school seniors. Those interested in scholarship opportunities are urged to apply as soon as possible to meet the Feb. 1 deadline. A total of 11 Rogers Achievers Scholaships will be given away, ranging from $5,000 to $100,000, and the money is valid toward educational costs at any college or university in the United States. Additionally, The Rogers Foundation is giving out 15 full ride scholarships to Kentucky Wesleyan College, an institution many of Jim Rogers’ family members attended which also features one of the top arts programs in the area.
