CINCH Boyd Gaming Chute-Out Competitors Announced
64 top-ranked cowboys and cowgirls to face off at Orleans Arena Dec. 10-12
Boyd Gaming today unveiled the 64-competitor field for its inaugural CINCH Boyd Gaming Chute-Out, scheduled Dec. 10-12 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
Some of rodeo’s biggest names will be competing in the first-ever Chute-Out, including fan favorites and world champions, Cody Ohl and Fred Whitfield in Tie-Down Roping. Additional stars include four-time world champion bull rider JW Harris, eight-time world champion and all-around cowboy Joe Beaver and two-time world champion saddle bronc rider Cody Wright.
“With 64 top-ranked contestants which includes 10 world champions, the first-ever CINCH Boyd Gaming Chute-Out will be a must-see competition for rodeo fans in Las Vegas this December,” said Chris Gibase, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Boyd Gaming. “With an all-star line-up and unique fan interaction opportunities, the Chute-Out is truly ‘A New Way to Rodeo.’”
Several weeks ago, Boyd Gaming released the Chute-Out Mobile App that will provide dedicated content and unique interaction opportunities for fans attending the three-day rodeo event, including “Chute-Out 101,” with individual event descriptions and scoring tips for the new rodeo fans; exclusive event information; behind-the-scenes videos; social connectivity capabilities; room and ticket packages and ticket purchasing options.
More exciting details about the Chute-Out – including the event format and an impressive list of participating stock vendors – will be announced in the coming weeks.
Competitions within the Chute-Out event include Bareback Riding, Steer Wrestling, Saddle Bronc, Tie-Down Roping, Team Roping, Barrel Racing and Bull Riding.
Bareback Riding
Among the competitors are 2014 Canadian Bareback Rider Champion Jake Vold and top-ranked cowboys Jessy Davis, Ryan Gray and RC Landingham. Ty Breuer, Casey Colletti, JR Vezain and 2014 million-dollar American winner Richie Champion round out the list of competitors.
Steer Wrestling
Leading the competition is National Finals champion Bray Armes, along with top-ranked cowboys Olin Hannum, Tyler Pearson and JD Struxness. Wade Sumpter, Sean Mulligan, Billy Bugenig and Stockton Graves will also compete.
Saddle Bronc
Competitors in the saddle bronc event include Cody Wright and Chad Ferley, both two-time world champions. Also competing are top-ranked cowboys Clay Elliott, Allen Boore and Sam Spreadborough, Jesse Bail, Cole Elshere and Dustin Flundra.
Tie-Down Roping
World champion legends Cody Ohl and Fred Whitfield will be roping in this competition, alongside top-ranked cowboys Clint Robinson, Adam Gray, J.C. Malone and Michael Otero; plus Clint Cooper and Blair Burk.
Team Roping
Featured in team roping is 22-time National Finals qualifier and all around legend Joe Beaver, with McCoy Profili; 26-time National Finals qualifier Tee Woolman with Boogie Ray; top cowboys JoJo LeMond with Quinn Kesler; Joel Bach with Tyler McKnight; Travis Tryan with Dugan Kelly; David Key with Dakota Kirchenschlager; Nevada’s own world champions, Randon Adams and Jay Adams; and World Champion Walt Woodard with Adam Rose.
Barrel Racing
The CINCH Boyd Gaming Chute-Out welcomes National Finalists Britany Diaz, Christy Loflin, Trula Churchill, Christine Laughlin and Shali Lord, along with competitors Carmel Wright, Kimmie Wall and Katelyn McLeod.
Bull Riding
Competitors are led by four-time world champion J.W. Harris, plus a roster filled with PBR and National Finalists — Steve Woolsey, Jeff Askey, Trevor Kastner, Tanner Learmont, Jacob O’Mara, Stetson Lawrence and Reese Cates.
The CINCH Boyd Gaming Chute-Out complements Boyd Gaming’s significant involvement in hosting events during Rodeo Week, including fan-favorite events like the National Finals Tonight show and Gary Leffew’s Legendary Buck’N Ball at The Orleans Hotel and Casino; Bob Tallman Celebrity Bowling Tournament at Gold Coast Hotel and Casino; and Roxy’s Buckin’ Bull Honky Tonk at Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall.
