Rebels hosting both Breast Cancer Awareness Day and Rebel Kids Club Day

The UNLV men’s soccer team starts a three-game homestand with a Sunday, Oct. 18 contest against Incarnate Word at 1 pm. The Rebels will be wearing pink jerseys during the game to help push Breast Cancer Awareness Day, while it will also be Rebel Kids Club Day at Peter Johann Memorial Field, with bounce houses available for kids to enjoy starting at 11:30 am. The game is part of a doubleheader with the UNLV women’s squad, who is playing Colorado State at 10:30 am that morning.

Tickets are $5 if bought online at UNLVTickets.com, up to three hours prior to the game, or $8 at the field. Kids 12 and under are free to all UNLV soccer games. The UNLV Soccer Foundation is hosting a free UNLV Soccer Tailgate Party at all home games this season, with gates opening for the party at 11 am for Sunday morning’s contest.

Sunday’s game will be streamed live on the Mountain West Network, which is available on UNLVRebels.com. Tyler Bischoff returns for his second year as play-by-play announcer on the Rebel broadcasts. Fans can also watch the broadcast on their TV through the Roku streaming video box on the Livestream channel.

UNLV Weekly Release

UNLV (8-3-1, 2-1-1 WAC) vs. Incarnate Word (5-5-0, 1-3-0 WAC)
Sunday, Oct. 18 – 1 pm – Las Vegas (Johann Memorial Field)
Live VideoLive Stats
Sunday’s game, against Incarnate Word, starts a key stretch for the Rebels as the following weekend they will host current co-leaders Seattle and Utah Valley, and wins over both could push UNLV to the top of the WAC.

UNLV is hoping that a return to its home field gives a spark to its play on offense. One of the top scoring teams in the nation a year ago, the Rebels have struggled as of late in the scoring column, with three-straight one goal contests. Their opponent this weekend have had scoring problems of their own, as the Cardinals have scored just once in the last three games, going into their Oct. 15 contest against Grand Canyon.

One player that has not had problems scoring is Las Vegas native Danny Musovski. The sophomore is tied for second in the nation with five game-winners, and even more impressively, four came in a five-game stretch, all to break a tie score, and two were in the final five minutes of the contest.
