The Cult *just added* Saturday, April 19 at 8 p.m.
Tickets start at $39.50 On sale Friday, March 14 at 10 a.m.
British rockers, The Cult, are one of the most influential and controversial rock bands of the late 20th century, selling millions of albums, headlining arenas and stadiums around the world, infusing innovative possibilities into the worlds of music and art, and quickly ascending through the ranks of the indie music world to achieve global status. And now, for one night only, they’ll be taking over The Joint. The Cult will rock out The Joint on Saturday, April 19.
As early as its first American tour in 1984, The Cult became one of the handfuls of important bands in the U.S. post-modern and hard rock communities. The band was embraced by the lost children of The Doors and Velvet Underground, and a generation that was waking up to the influence of ‘60s and ‘70s rock icons like Led Zeppelin, The New York Dolls and David Bowie.
Formed in Brixton, London in 1983 as Death Cult, The Cult’s music transformed from punk rock to post-punk, psychedelia, heavy dance music, and transcendental hard rock. As one journalist noted, “Using a few simple riffs and images, The Cult creates an entire environment, one more exciting and stimulating than our own.”
The constant core of The Cult is vocalist/lyricist Ian Astbury and guitarist/composer Billy Duffy. Attitude incarnate, the chemistry between these two vastly different artists – equal-parts genuine affection and palpable tension – remains the source of their long-standing partnership. Duffy grounds Astbury’s esoteric side with a hard rock perspective, and there is no doubt that at all times, these two have each other’s backs.
Cheech & Chong and WAR *just added* Friday, May 16 at 9 p.m.
Tickets start at $39.50 On sale Friday, March 14 at 10 a.m.
Comedians Cheech & Chong and rock band WAR recently announced their co-headlining, Up in Smoke Tour. “Hey, what happens when Cheech and Chong get together with WAR? Answer: The Greatest Stoner show of all time…combining Comedy, Latin, Funk, Horns, Rock & Soul.” And that’s what fans can expect to experience at The Joint on Friday, May 16.
The iconic comedy duo Cheech & Chong defined an era with their hilariously irreverent, satirical and counter-culture routines. Highlights for GRAMMY award-winning Richard “Cheech” Marin and Tommy Chong include nine hit comedy albums and shattering record sales, along with eight hit feature films which they co-wrote and starred in. All films were directed by Chong. Their first film, “Up In Smoke,” the highest grossing comedy of 1978, topped $100 million at the box office. In 2008, the duo made history when comedy partners Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong announced their first reunion tour in over 25 years, selling out shows from coast to coast.
Multi-platinum-selling WAR, the original street band, has been sharing its timeless music and message of brotherhood and harmony for over 4 decades before millions across the globe. Queen + Adam Lambert *just added* Saturday, July 5 – Sunday, July 6 at 8 p.m.
Tickets start at $49.50 On sale Friday, March 14 at 10 a.m.
Queen + Adam Lambert will reign over a highly anticipated North American summer tour starting in June. Brian May, Roger Taylor + Adam Lambert will come together for the first time at The Joint on Saturday, July 5 and Sunday, July 6.
Queen + Adam Lambert received glowing reviews for their performance together at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas last September, triggering a conversation between Adam, Roger and Brian to take the show on the road. Rolling Stone said, “Lambert astounded the audience on songs like ‘We Will Rock You’ and the closing ‘We Are The Champions’ and ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’. It was the most anticipated act of the night.” Billboard claimed, “…Queen effectively stole the show, with timeless songs that music fans of all genres can sing along to” and the Hollywood Reporter exclaimed, “Adam Lambert, Queen bring down the iHeart house. With the perfect mix of rock attitude mixed with style, theatricality, sex appeal and impressive vocal gymnastics, [Lambert] took the band’s music to new heights.”
The threesome first shared the stage during American Idol in May 2009 for a performance of “We Are The Champions”. They teamed up again in 2011 at the MTV European Music Awards in Belfast, Ireland for an electrifying eight-minute finale of “The Show Must Go On”, “We Will Rock You” and “We Are The Champions” and in the summer of 2012, Lambert performed a series of shows with Queen across Europe as well as dates in Russia, Ukraine and Poland. They also performed three sold-out gigs at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.
In a career spanning over 40 years Queen has amassed a staggering list of sales, awards, and hall of fame inductions that is second to none. Record sales in the hundreds of millions of units, including an unprecedented string of number one albums and top-charting singles that continue to put Queen in the top ten of all-time iTunes sales, seven Ivor Novello Awards, an MTV Global Icon Award, two songs enshrined in the Grammy Hall of Fame – “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions” – which also remain the most played songs at sports events and arenas around the world, and, as if to qualify all of hyperbole, just last month Queen received the accolade of becoming the first artist ever to sell over six million copies of an album in the UK – beating out even the Beatles’ Sgt Pepper by close on a million copies – with their Greatest Hits album, which also achieved the record of over 1,422 weeks on the British album chart. The statistics show a staggering one in three British households now own a copy of the iconic act’s original Greatest Hits collection. Even with the tragic loss of their uniquely talented singer Freddie Mercury, Queen remain one of the most revered bands in rock and pop history, able to claim one of the most enduring song catalogues of all time. Just think: “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Another One Bites the Dust”, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”, “Radio Ga Ga”, “Killer Queen”, “Fat Bottomed Girls”, “Bicycle Race”, songs that form the backdrop to the lives of generations of fans across all ages. With their sterling song craft, virtuoso musicality, and colossal spectacle of their live performances, Queen – Brian May, Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor and John Deacon – captured hearts and conquered charts like no other band in history, a legacy that continues to live through the ongoing work and concert performances by May and Taylor. Their musical We Will Rock You, co-created with writer Ben Elton, is approaching its 12th year on stage in London’s West End and is currently touring North America.
Adam Lambert’s stunning performances on the eighth season of American Idol are still widely regarded as some of the most riveting moments in the show’s history. His debut album For Your Entertainment earned him a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. His second album, Trespassing, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. The subsequent tour took Lambert from Australia to South Africa, throughout Asia and Eastern Europe and culminated in a sold-out arena show in Helsinki, Finland. In 2013, Lambert appeared as a guest star on FOX’s hit TV series, “GLEE.” He is currently writing and recording for his third album, which will be released this year.

Their second effort, Don’t Look Back was another chart-topper that confirmed their place in rock history, followed by Third Stage, which hit #1 on the charts, with the top single of 1986, “Amanda.” With over 31 million albums sold to date, their music has stood the test of time, as evidenced by live BOSTON audiences that span generations.
Last December, BOSTON released their newest studio album, Life, Love & Hope on Frontiers Records. More than a decade in the making, Life, Love & Hope features 11 tracks embodying the classic and beloved BOSTON sound, as well as the latest in the evolution of Tom Scholz’ musical artistry.
