UNLV WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYS AT NEVADA, RENO IN GOVERNOR’S SERIES CONTEST
Wednesday night is the first contest of the season between the two in-state rivals
The UNLV women’s basketball team looks for a second league win on Wednesday night when it takes on Nevada, Reno on the road at 6:30 pm. The contest is also the first year of the year in the Governor’s Series, presented by NV Energy, an all-sports competition between the two schools. UNLV won the initial series last season, and currently leads this year’s by a 9-3 score.
The Lady Rebels are also looking for their seventh straight win over their rival from the north. Head coach Kathy Olivier, a former UNLV All-American, is a perfect 6-0 against the Wolf Pack, including a season sweep last season in UNR’s first year in the Mountain West.
