From high atop Jean Philippe Pâtisserie at Bellagio, the infamous Grinch now overlooks the hustle and bustle of holiday shoppers merrily browsing the European-inspired pastry shop’s selection of miniature seasonal treats. Normally the sight of sweet delights and joyful guests would bring a scowl to the Grinch’s face, however Jean Philippe Pâtisserie’s talented pastry team worked for three months to transform the holiday-despising Dr. Seuss character into a sweet symbol of holiday cheer..

The Grinch’s once empty heart is now filled with sugary goodness, made from 50 pounds of chocolate and 112 pounds of sugar-rolling fondant, an icing-like decorative ingredient. His notorious grimace is instead a hand-carved grin symbolizing his revelation of the true meaning of the holidays. Standing tall at five feet six inches, the Grinch is surrounded by a wonderland of ornaments and gifts galore made from chocolate and colored fondant set in a bed of fluffy white snow.

Although guests won’t find the Grinch carving and serving the roast beast, he does invite shoppers to take home some treats of their own in festive shapes, including chocolate praline trees, Santa’s boots and Santa Claus performing a variety of activities including rollerblading, surfing and skiing. All are available for purchase in-store at Bellagio and ARIA locations and online at www.jpchocolates.com. A custom blend of Gingerbread Hot Chocolate mix also is available to keep guests warm throughout the cold winter nights.
