USA Sevens International Rugby Tournament Returns
to Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas with Exhilarating Matchups
and an International Extravaganza

Tickets now on sale for North America’s premier rugby event
Jan. 24-26, 2014

Following a hugely successful 2013 tournament, USA Sevens Rugby is set to once again invade Las Vegas with tens of thousands of international fans and nonstop professional sports action during North America’s premier rugby tournament at Sam Boyd Stadium Jan. 24-26, 2014.

Tickets are now on sale for the 2014 USA Sevens Rugby tournament, which has seen attendance growth of nearly 100 percent since the event moved to Las Vegas in 2010. As the tournament prepares for its fifth consecutive year at Sam Boyd Stadium, fans will have the opportunity to see 16 of the top international rugby sevens teams play 45 matches over three days as teams attempt to gain points in the 2013-2014 HSBC Sevens World Series standings. Rugby sevens offers a fast-paced, thrilling variation on traditional rugby with two seven-player teams battling in 14-minute matches where the action never stops.

“The USA Sevens International Rugby Tournament is one of the most unique sporting events in the United States, and we are dedicated to driving the continued growth and popularity of rugby,” said Jonathan First, president of United World Sports. “Without the support of NBC Sports and Las Vegas Events, this event would not be where it is today, and we are extremely grateful to continue working with these leaders in their respective fields.”

The event’s signature high-energy atmosphere will once again be brought to life with a fusion of international culture and pride, live entertainment and costumed fans at the USA Sevens International Fan Festival. In addition to fueling the tournament’s energy, the Fan Festival will also feature family-friendly activities such as live musical performances, international cuisine and rugby clinics for children. Located just outside of Sam Boyd Stadium, ticket holders will be free to move back-and-forth from the festival to the games inside the stadium during the three-day tournament.

“The definitive rugby experience is ultimately about crowd engagement,” said Dan Lyle, USA Sevens tournament director. “The players will guarantee explosive action on the field, and our goal is to encourage our fans to wear their favorite and most outrageous costumes while cheering on their teams throughout all three days of the tournament to provide an electrifying atmosphere rivaling any in North American sports.”

USA Sevens also presents the only opportunity for U.S. fans to see future rugby sevens Olympians in person as the players prepare for the 2016 summer games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

International teams competing in the 2014 USA Sevens tournament tentatively include: Argentina, Australia, Canada, England, Fiji, France, Kenya, New Zealand, Portugal, Samoa, Scotland, Spain, Uruguay, United States and Wales.

The Monte Carlo Resort and Casino has been named the 2014 Official Team Hotel and will serve as host to the professional players and thousands of fans from around the world. In addition, Monte Carlo and other MGM properties, including Aria, Luxor and Excalibur, will feature a series of rugby-themed events throughout the tournament week beginning Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014.

Rugby fans can take advantage of several pricing options for the 2014 tournament, starting at $35 for one-day tickets. Fans are encouraged to buy before Dec. 1, 2013 to take advantage of discounts as high as 33 percent off full-priced tickets. Full-price ticket pricing options include:
