The UNLV cross country team will compete in their final race this season before postseason meets, racing in the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 14.
Santa Clara University will be hosting the meet out in Baylands Regional Park in Sunnyvale, Cali. The race is scheduled to kick off at 9:30 a.m. PT, the team competing in the 6k College Invitational race.
UNLV enters the weekend coming off of a strong showing at the Dave Murray Invitational two weeks ago, junior Natalia Ruiz posting the third-fastest time in program history on a 20:44.0 time. Ruiz’s race caught the eyes of many around the conference, earning her the second Mountain West Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week honor she’s been awarded this season. Isabella Schrader also finished among the field’s top-50 finishers, the senior placed 32nd overall on a time of 22:54.9.
The Rebels, who are in their first season under new head coach Carmelita Jeter and assistant coach Adam Meyer, opened the season on Sept. 1 at the Mark Covert Classic in Brea, California, where multiple student-athletes set personal records.
You can follow along with the Rebels’ races through the meet’s live results through MileSplit, which can be found here. You can also see the course map of the 6k race here.
