MAKSYMCHUK NAMED RAISING CANE’S OUTSTANDING REBEL OF THE WEEK

The sophomore captured the consolation singles crown at ITA Conference Masters Championships

UNLV men’s tennis sophomore Illia Maksymchuk has been named the Raising Cane’s Outstanding Rebel of the Week, the school announced Thursday.

The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletics Strategic Communications department.

Maksymchuk, a native of Ukraine, won the consolation singles championship at the ITA Conference Masters Championships. After losing his first match, he won four rounds to take the title in the national event.
