UNLV women’s golf senior Toa Yokoyama was tabbed the Mountain West Women’s Golfer of the Month, the league office announced Thursday. This is her third career Mountain West weekly or monthly award, while she is the first Rebel to receive the recognition this season.

The Tokyo, Japan native recorded a pair of top-10 finishes to open the 2024-25 campaign, recording five rounds under par in her six rounds played. She started off her season strong with a tied-for-third finish at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational, shooting a 6-under-par 210. She followed up her opening outing with a ninth-place finish at the Red Raider Invitational after shooting a 2-under 214.

Yokoyama’s performances helped guide the Rebels to back-to-back second-place finishes to start the year.

UP NEXT: The Rebels’ fall tournament slate continues on Friday, Oct. 4, in Highlands Ranch, Colorado at Denver’s Ron Moore Intercollegiate.
