The UNLV women’s basketball team are back in Las Vegas to host UNR at the Thomas & Mack Center on Saturday, January 27 at 2 p.m. The game is part of the Silver State Series, presented by America First Credit Union.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT: UNLV is 40-14 all-time versus UNR. In the last five meetings, the Lady Rebels have won four of five games including going 3-0 against the Wolf Pack last season. In the La Rocque era, UNLV is 5-2 against UNR. Coming into Saturday, the Wolf Pack have an 11-9 overall record and 5-2 record in MW play. UNR has currently won four-straight games including a 78-51 win over Colorado State on Tuesday, Jan. 23. The Wolf Pack are led by Audrey Roden who is averaging 11.9 points per game. Kennedy Lee is the leading rebounder for the Wolf Pack averaging 5.4 boards per game.

SATURDAY’S PROMOTIONS: The first 1,000 fans inside the Thomas & Mack Center will be able to pick up a free UNLV t-shirt. Additionally, fans in attendance will receive Lady Rebels’ jersey stickers! There will also be a ticket giveaway to 16-time Grammy nominated Brian McKnight concert on the Las Vegas strip. Fans can enter their name at the marketing table on the concourse and the winners will be announced following the game.
TICKETS: Tickets are $6 when purchased in advance online at UNLVTickets.com. General admission tickets at the door are $10 ($8 for seniors, UNLV faculty/staff and alumni). UNLV students and Nevada high school students (presenting student ID) as well as all children 12 and under enter free.
BROADCAST INFO: The game will air live locally on the Silver State Sports and Entertainment Network (KVVU 5.2, Cox 125) and stream online on the Mountain West Network (theMW.com/watch). Play-by-play announcer Wyatt Tomchek and color analyst Kevaney Martin have the call.
SQUAD LEADERS: Desi-Rae Young leads the Lady Rebels in scoring, averaging 19.9 points per game and is the leading rebounder (9.4 rebounds per game). Kiara Jackson leads UNLV in assists per game (5.2) and is the second-leading scorer averaging 11.6 points per game. Alyssa Durazo-Frescas is the third leading scorer on the squad, averaging 9.4 points and Alyssa Brown is the second leading rebounder, bringing down 8.1 boards per game, respectively.
LAST TIME ON THE COURT: The UNLV women’s basketball team jumped back into the win column after earning an 84-63 victory at Boise State on Wednesday night at ExtraMile Arena.Desi-Rae Young led the Lady Rebels with her 43rd career double-double and eighth of the season of 25 points and 11 rebounds (seven offensive, four defensive). Young shot 11-for-19 from the field, 1-for-1 from the three-point line and 2-for-2 at the free throw line. She added three assists to the stats sheet, one steal and a block. Alyssa Durazo-Frescas added 16 points by shooting 5-for-7 from the field, 4-for-6 from behind the arc and 2-for-3 at the free throw line. Ashley Scoggin and Nneka Obiazor each collected 14 points. Obiazor was a spark off the bench with her 14 points and eight rebounds.
SQUAD UP: The Lady Rebels return nine of the 12 players from its 2023 championship squad, including three starters and Mountain West Sixth Player of the Year Kiara Jackson. UNLV added four freshmen, forward McKinna Brackens, point guard Amarachi Kimpson, guard Macy Spencer and forward Meadow Roland, and junior transfer Macie James, a forward from Oklahoma State.
