About The Blooming Bistro

The Blooming Bistro is more than just a restaurant. It is an organization dedicated to empowering young individuals facing significant life challenges, including those aging out of child welfare, in recovery from substance use disorders, involved in the juvenile justice system, or experiencing homelessness. Through evidence-based training and social-emotional learning, they provide the tools needed to build sustainable futures.

The organization partners with Restaurant Hospitality Institute, which is licensed to operate by the State of Nevada’s Commission of Postsecondary Education, to provide essential training in all aspects of restaurant service. These skills are then honed in a real world setting working at The Blooming Bistro. Students who graduate from the program are battle-tested and ready to thrive with a career in hospitality, with a resume under their belt.

With Chef Calvin Shiflet at the helm of the kitchen, the restaurant serves up healthy-eating, vegetable-forward dishes such as salads and bowls with meat optional add-ons as well as burgers and sandwiches. The Blooming Bistro is open Monday – Friday from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
