Opportunity to Appear on TV
“BATTLEBOTS: DESTRUCT-A-THON,” the live robot-combat experience inspired by the popular TV show, invites fans to two exclusive Proving Ground matches on Saturday, Aug. 19 and Sunday, Aug. 20. Rookie bot DOOM built by amateur Alejandro Pina will receive the opportunity to compete against Ray Billing of Tombstone fame and Martin Mason of MadCatter fame for the chance to earn a potential spot in the BattleBots World Championship TV show.
Adding an exciting twist to the match, Billing and Mason will field their smaller robots to create a multi-bot. Billing’s Mortician bot and Mason’s CatKong will form a dynamic duo to take on the 250-pound DOOM bot.
Should DOOM prove victorious or impress the BattleBots selection committee with innovative technology, the amateur bot may receive the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete against professional teams on TV.
Proving Ground matches will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19 and on Sunday, Aug. 20. For more information or to purchase tickets, click here.
