20th Annual Las Vegas Great Santa Run Returns to Downtown Las Vegas With Spirited Crowd
Thousands in attendance for annual fun run
Thousands of Santas flocked to Downtown Las Vegas on Saturday, December 7 to celebrate the 20th annual Las Vegas Great Santa Run, with both humans and pets joining in on the festivities.
Co-Grand Marshals Mac King and The Chippendales pumped up the crowd ahead of the 5K and one-mile races. Additional special guests included FOX 5’s Jason Feinberg and Alyssa Deitsch, Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley, OV Elvi, Adam London, Carnell Johnson, Chase Brown, Dangerous Curves, The Australian Bee Gees and more.
“This year’s Great Santa Run was so wonderful, and it couldn’t have happened without the support of the spectacular individuals and groups in this community,” said Bob Brown, President & CEO of Opportunity Village. “We were able to raise critical dollars and awareness for the people we serve at Opportunity Village, and we’re extremely thankful for our sponsors, volunteers, performers and registrants.”
The Las Vegas Great Santa Run, presented by Circle K, featured entertainment, contests and both 5K and one-mile courses allowing festive Santas to run and walk in support of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities at Opportunity Village. Festivities kicked off at the Downtown Las Vegas Event Center at 8 a.m. and concluded with an after-party that featured live entertainment and a variety of vendors.
All proceeds from the event go to support Opportunity Village in its mission to employ, empower and serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Nevada.
