Nine Lucky Cure 4 The Kids Foundation Patients Offered Two-Day “Contracts” To Become Team Captain of the Las Vegas Desert Dogs
Las Vegas Desert Dogs’ “Power of the Pack” Campaign Aims to Strengthen Community Unity
The Las Vegas Desert Dogs, Las Vegas’ official National League Lacrosse (NLL) team is giving several Cure 4 The Kids Foundation patients the opportunity of a lifetime — to join the team!
Nine (9) lucky patients of Cure 4 The Kids Foundation (C4K), Southern Nevada’s only pediatric cancer and rare disease treatment center, are being offered two-day “contracts” with the Las Vegas Desert Dogs. Prior to each home game, the child will be signed as the team’s honorary captain and help guide players during their high-energy matches at Michelob Ultra Arena at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino.
The groundbreaking idea to involve C4K patients during each home game is part of the “Power of the Pack” initiative to underline the strength and unity within our community. The Las Vegas Desert Dogs in partnership with Las Vegas Honda Dealers want to amplify the courage and resilience of the young cancer warriors and emphasize the collective strength of the community.
As honorary captains, each child will be featured in a video vignette during the Las Vegas Desert Dogs official pre-show and then will be the first player to emerge from the tunnel during team introductions. Every team captain will sign a two-day contract allowing them to participate in a news conference the night before each game, receive a Las Vegas Desert Dogs team jersey, meet with players in the locker room and offer additional support to players.
“This is the kind of experience our patients are not going to forget,” said Annette Logan-Parker, CEO and founder of Cure 4 The Kids Foundation. “So many of our patients have not had the chance to see a Las Vegas Desert Dogs game, let alone become team captains where they have a front row seat to the excitement and strength that comes from the Power of the Pack. team’s camaraderie.”
The Las Vegas Desert Dogs next home game is Friday, December 15, 2023, at Michelob Ultra Arena inside Mandalay Bay. Tickets start at $19 and can be purchased here. The game starts at 7 p.m. The first 4,000 guests will receive a Honda Howl Towel.
