17TH ANNUAL LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY CRAWFISH BOIL RETURNS TO DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS EVENTS CENTER, APRIL 25
Downtown hotspot welcomes guests to a scholarship fundraising event featuring
a 5,000-pound crawfish boil and entertainment from Theo and the Zydeco Patrol
On Saturday, April 25, the 17th Annual Louisiana State University (LSU) Crawfish Boil and Food Festival will be back at Downtown Las Vegas Events Center to serve up more than 5,000 pounds of live crawfish trucked in from Lafayette, Louisiana. Presented by the Las Vegas Chapter of the LSU Alumni Association, the event will raise money for scholarships for Nevada high school students who hope to one day attend the Baton Rouge-based school.
The 5,000-pound crawfish boil will mix a combination of corn, red potatoes and fragrant spices for the ultimate southern cultural experience. Guests also can dine on fare such as fried alligator, funnel cakes, BBQ, Cajun-style shrimp and a selection of beer and full bar services.
When the eating is over, attendees can relish in all-day entertainment including face painting, balloon crafts, lawn games and dance to live performances by Cajun blues band, Theo and the Zydeco Patrol.
The boil will run from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. and is free to enter. Secure a spot and crawfish order by reserving a table in advance. Tables start at $80 a person and includes a $55 food and $25 beverage minimum. Tables seat 4, 6, 8 and 10 guests at a time. Tickets can be purchased at www.dlvec.com or at the gate and all ages are welcome.
The Las Vegas Chapter of the LSU Alumni Association, a nonprofit organization, hosts its annual Crawfish Boil to help finance their Endowment Fund to provide Nevada students who wish to attend LSU with scholarships. The Boil is the largest fundraising event within their organization.
