Double Down Aviation Henderson Hangar Complex
NDL Group Inc. received the Honor Award in the Special Use Category at the 26 th Annual NAIOP Spotlight Awards for Double Down Aviation Henderson Hangar Complex.
Double Down Aviation proudly services the local aviation community in Southern Nevada, the newly developed state-of-the-art complex includes: a spacious two-story lobby, training rooms & classrooms, a library, conference room, avionics workshop, pilot shop, massive service department with a 2-story parts department, and multiple buildings.
The 29,765 square foot maintenance building utilizes tilt up concrete construction with a pre- engineered metal super structure, 16 “T” hangers for small personal aircraft and 9 individual box hangers that can accommodate midsize business jets.
One incredibly unique requirement of this facility was to include a subterranean storage vault for the spent fire protection foam, which can hold a massive 100,000+ gallons! This vault was constructed of cast in place concrete floors, walls and ceiling systems and capable of supporting the required Fire Truck weights, as well the aircraft traffic.
The Judges in this category noted that this project helped stabilize rents in the surrounding area. The judges felt the team championed numerous headwinds including unique drainage issues and sustainability features with the different types of construction happening in the surrounding areas of the site, but still found a way to collaborate and communicate and deliver a successful project. The complexity and difficulty level of this project was impressive.

About NAIOP Southern Nevada Spotlight Awards: The NAIOP Southern Nevada Spotlight Awards recognizes distinguished commercial real estate entities in our local development community. This program is designed to highlight NAIOP members and impact on the industry and serves to increase public awareness of the outstanding commitment made by these representatives. The 26th Annual NAIOP Southern Nevada Spotlight Awards “NAIOP in the Hamptons” was held on Saturday, March 25th, 2023, at Red Rock Casino Resort.
There are 9 Industry and 17 Project categories offered for recognition at the event. The selection of
awards for the development projects was completed by a panel of experienced real estate professionals from across the country. Entries were kept anonymous and judged based on the highest standards of development including user requirements, aesthetics, environmental concerns, and overcoming challenges. The Industry Award winners were chosen by 51 active members of NAIOP Southern Nevada. The entries were evaluated and scored independently, and the results were secretly tallied.
