UNLV men’s soccer freshman forward Tyler Ware was named the WAC Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. This marks his first career weekly award, while he is the second Rebel to receive the honor this season.

Hailing from Hooper, Utah, Ware helped guide the Rebels to a 2-0 week with wins over San Jose State and Air Force. During a four-point week, he scored one goal and added two assists in 69 minutes on the pitch.

In the Scarlet & Gray’s 2-0 home victory over the Spartans, Ware notched his first career three-point match by scoring the team’s final goal and assisting on the first. He followed that performance up with an assist on the game-tying goal in the 83rd minute of UNLV’s 2-1 comeback win over the Falcons.

UP NEXT: The Rebels are home for a pair of doubleheaders with women’s soccer this week, starting with a match Thursday at 8:30 p.m. vs. Utah Tech. A pregame tailgate with free food and drinks will be hosted by the UNLV Soccer Foundation prior to Thursday’s games at 5 p.m.
