Resident comics Julio Rodriguez, Bret Ernst and Butch Bradley will share the Dragon Room
stage with a hilarious lineup of comedians.
L.A. Comedy Club inside The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower hosts three shows nightly with an exciting, and of course hysterical, lineup in July. The nightly 6 p.m. resident comic Julio Gonzalez and 10 p.m. residents Butch Bradley and Bret Ernst share the stage with an incredibly funny 8 p.m. comedy lineup that includes Julio Gonzalez, Cody Woods, Mary Upchurch, Mike Merryfield, Nikki Carr, Patrick Garrity and Jimmy Shubert. The L.A. Comedy Club, dubbed “The younger rebel brother of Improv” by Casino Player Magazine, has been entertaining Las Vegas locals and visitors since 2007. Julio Gonzalez, a rising star in the comedy scene, is known nationwide for his storytelling comedic style using his life experiences such as weight loss, relationships, society, women and living life to the fullest. - 10 p.m. Thursday through Monday: Butch Bradley
Comedic veteran, Butch Bradley, grew up in Atlantic City, New Jersey and started his comedy career by becoming a founding member of the Boston Improv Troupe. Bradley has been the opening act for comedic legends like Ray Romano, Lewis Black and Cathy Ladman and has appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, has been a regular on “The Late Late Show” and toured festivals such as the “Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival,” the “Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival” and made an appearance as a USO Entertainer. Bradley has received the gold award for “Best Comedian” for three consecutive years from the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s “Best of Las Vegas” awards. Bradley’s comedy special, “Butch Bradley: From Las Vegas” is currently available on Amazon Prime. He can also be seen on the big screen in the upcoming film “Reagan” starring Dennis Quaid.

Bret Ernst, born and raised in New Jersey, was one of four comedians featured in “Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days and 30 Nights—Hollywood to the Heartland,” has appeared on television shows like “Comedy Central Presents,” “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” “Weeds” and has a recurring role on Netflix’s hit series, “Cobra Kai.” Ernst’s jokes are rooted in storytelling, giving the audience an inside look at the life of a typical North Jersey Italian kid in the 1980s.

Adam Hunter, is relentless, packing more jokes per minute than any other comedian ever heard. Originally from New York City, he has quickly become one of the most popular comedians in the country. Julio Gonzalez has taken the comedy world, and the Las Vegas Strip, by storm. Julio’s comedy is based on his bilingual upbringing and life experiences including weight loss, relationships, society, women and living life to the fullest. His comedy has earned him a residency at the award-winning L.A. Comedy Club inside The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower in Las Vegas. While Gonzalez is living his dream job as a comedian, he uses his platform to be the difference he would like to see in the world. He frequently hosts complimentary shows for first responders and teachers as well as collects donations of non-perishable food items and clothing in support of local food banks and shelters resulting in over two tons of food and more than 1000 articles of clothes helping homeless and low-income families.

Originally from Kansas City, Cody Woods is now a prominent comedian based in Los Angeles. He appeared on season three of Comedy Central’s “Hart of the City,” The Comedy Shaq Network and the Emmy-nominated show “Mind Field.” Woods knew he wanted to be a comedian since he was five years old. He had always used humor to navigate the challenging upbringing of having a single mother, living in a trailer, frequently changing schools and often being the ethnic minority in his class. He used jokes and humor to win over friends and avoid bullying. Over the years, he has opened for renowned comedians such as Dave Attell, Paul Mooney, Tom Segura, Bruce Bruce, Charlie Murphy, Steve-O and Todd Glass. In 2014, Woods toured with the USO entertaining troops in Japan and performed at the NACA college circuit. He was a finalist in the 2015 Cabo San Lucas Comedy Festival and was handpicked by Kevin Hart to showcase on Comedy Central in 2019.
San Diego native Mary Upchurch is a ball of excitement, energy and enthusiasm with a pinch of self-depreciation and dash of delusion and desperation. Upchurch launched her comedy career in Phoenix, and now performs all over the Las Vegas Strip. Upchurch was the winner of several contests including “House of Comedy’s Funniest Person with a Day Job,” “Stir Crazy’s Funniest Person in the Universe,” and she placed 3rd in the “World Series of Comedy” in 2022. Mary has participated in the “Limestone Comedy Festival,” “Big Pine Comedy Festival,” “SLO Comedy Festival” and “The Sac-Town Comedy Get-Down.” She has opened for legends Taylor Tomlinson, Todd Barry, Finesse Mitchell, John Caparulo, Greg Proops and many more. Mary is currently hosting the “Wings with Friends Podcast” on iTunes, a podcast about food, fun, and friends. Her standup can be heard featured on Dry Bar Comedy and SiriusXM.
- Monday, July 15 through Sunday, July 21: Mike Merryfield featuring Gabe Nolasco
Grammy-nominated Mike Merryfield started his comedy career nearly a decade ago as a doorman at a local comedy club. Known for keeping his sets refreshingly original, Merryfield has made a splash in the comedic world. Merryfield was the season three winner of Comcast’s “Trial by Laughter,” runner-up in the 37th Annual “San Francisco Comedy Competition” and was one of the original “Lucky 21” at the HBO Comedy Festival that aired on TBS. Merryfield also has two different hour-long comedy specials on SiriusXM and three albums on iTunes, with his first album “Live at Loonies” receiving a Grammy nomination. He can also be found making an appearance in the movie “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the White House,” alongside Cedric the Entertainer and Mike Epps.
Originally from the Bay Area in California, Gabe Nolasco is one of the hottest up-and-coming comedians on the scene today. With over 14 years of experience, his sarcastic social commentary pokes fun at a myriad of topics including race, religion, relationships and himself. He now resides in Las Vegas where he works as a writer, actor and podcast producer creating comedic sketches and commercials as well as performing in local clubs.
- Monday, July 22 through Saturday, July 27: Nikki Carr
Nikki Carr weaves her life experiences as a woman, lesbian, mother and grandmother into her hilarious stand-up routines. She has appeared on several TV shows and comedy specials including BET’s “Comic View,” “One Mic Stand” with Kevin Hart, NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and Martin Lawrence’s “1st Amendment Stand Up.” Her impressive resume also includes independent films like “Gold Digger Killer,” Change the Game” and “Ass Backwards” with Alicia Silverstone and Jon Cryer. Carr has also taken her performances overseas, performing for troops at military bases in Kuwait and Iraq.
- Sunday, July 28: Patrick Garrity
Patrick Garrity started comedy at an early age developing a great sense of timing and wit, making him now a veteran of the road. His high-energy stories about being in the military, growing up a younger brother and why the Irish don’t trash-talk come to life through characters, impressions and real-life situations. Alongside performing in clubs all around the country, Garrity has appeared on NBC’s and CBS’s Comedy Night School.
- Monday, July 29 through Sunday, August 4: Jimmy Shubert
Jimmy Shubert, a Philadelphia native, started performing stand-up right out of high school at local comedy clubs before moving to Los Angeles where he began working at The Comedy Store. Shubert was one of the original “Outlaws of Comedy” that toured for five years, playing major casinos in Las Vegas and other cities, often to more than 6,000 people per show. Since his performance in the Montreal “Just for Laughs Comedy Festival” in 1997, Shubert’s television appearances range from IFC, ABC, NBC, CBS and Disney Channel with appearances on “2 Broke Girls,” “Heist,” “ER,” “Reno 911,” “Rude Awakenings,” “Angel,” “Once and Again,” “Lucky,” “New Car Smell,” “Secret Service Guy,” “Just Shoot Me” and “Youth in Revolt.” He has worked with such marquee names as Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron, Katie Holmes, and Robin Williams. His first half-hour special for “Comedy Central Presents” was recorded at the Hudson Theater in New York City. Additionally, he has recorded three comedy albums with his most recent, “Zero Tolerance,” reaching the No. 1 Comedy Album spot on iTunes.
