The FREE Outdoor Event on Oct. 5 Promotes Being a Caring Neighbor
Collecting Socks for CCSD’s Title I HOPE (Homeless Outreach Program for Education)
LVegas PBS Be My Neighbor Day returns on Saturday, October 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Lawn in Downtown Summerlin. Be My Neighbor Day is a free outdoor event that promotes being a caring neighbor.Attendees can engage in community-faced acts of kindness and take part in family- friendly activities. PBS KIDS’ beloved characters Daniel Tiger and Katerina Kittycat will be on stage for guest appearances throughout the day. Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood is an Emmy-winning animated preschool program that models age-appropriate social-emotional strategies and practical life skills for young children. The first TV series inspired by the iconic Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood stars 4-year-old Daniel Tiger, who invites young viewers into his world, giving them a kid’s-eye view of his life.

“We look forward to this event every year,” says Vegas PBS President and General Manager Mare Mazur. “It’s always wonderful to see all of the families have fun and learn about being a caring neighbor. To set an example for others to follow, Vegas PBS will be collecting new pairs of kids’ socks at our booth during the event to benefit CCSD’s Title I HOPE (Homeless Outreach Program for Education). Those who donate will receive a Vegas PBS goodie bag while supplies last.”
This event is made possible with the generous support from our local community supporters and Presenting Sponsors Howard Hughes and PNC Bank. Vendor booths and sponsorship opportunities are available. For details visit the event page at vegaspbs.org/bemyneighborday.
