MANDALAY BAY
New Themes Include 80s Arcade Games, Phoenix Rising, Zoltar, More
Minus5º ICEBAR at Mandalay Bay unveils new exhilarating ice displays, transporting guests to thrilling new winter wonderlands. Ideal for visitors of all ages to enjoy, the new sculptures include nostalgic 80s arcade games, a fiery phoenix rising, the alluring Zoltar and other must-see photo opportunities.
Surrounded by 100 tons of ice, guests can explore the colorful worlds of PAC-MAN, Tetris and other vintage arcade favorites displayed within the lounge’s icy walls. The enclosed phoenix rising space provides a brilliant contrast of red and orange flames encapsulated in blocks of ice. Visitors can also explore new sculptures such as the iconic fortune-telling Zoltar machine and life-size dog inside the frozen paradise.
The new displays were created by award-winning master ice carvers Dan “Hollywood” Rebholz and Austin Greenleaf. New, 250-pound blocks of ice were used in the construction. Each block of ice required four men to lift and hoist it into place. Prior to arriving in Las Vegas, the ice was created by utilizing a special process that removes all air bubbles, resulting in the clearest ice possible. The new construction represents part of Minus5º ICEBAR’s quarterly Staying COOL re-theming program to keep the experience fresh for guests.
