Barbra & Frank
Venue: Grand Events Center
Genre: Classic
Date: Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020 at 8 p.m.
Ticket Prices: $15 plus applicable fees
Artist Info: It is unlikely that the two powerhouse voices of the century would have ever shared the same stage…until now! They never worked together, exactly, except when they taped a duet in separate recording sessions, but it’s tantalizing to think what it would have been like to have Barbra Streisand and Frank Sinatra teamed up for a concert tour. Just imagine the possibilities. Would one have outshone the other? Would their onstage banter have been friendly or a bit snippy? In the Las Vegas Hit show, “Barbra and Frank”, the rapport of these two 20th century icons is immediately prevalent. “As good as the music is, the banter between the stars is equally memorable.” “The Concert That Never Was…” includes segments in which Streisand and Sinatra create masterful duets of “Somewhere”, “Something Stupid” and “New York New York”. A highlight of the show is a delicate blending of two of their signature songs as Sinatra croons verses from “It Was A Very Good Year” intertwined with Streisand’s memorable “The Way We Were”. Today, Sharon and Sebastian captivate audiences worldwide with their originally self-produced Las Vegas show that brings laughter, tears and joy to every person watching. Sebastian’s crooning sounds of Sinatra bring “memories” to an audience who remember the late great “ol’ blue eyes” himself. While the uncanny looks of Sharon brings out the Funny Girl herself, Streisand, does it the only way she knows how…Her Way.

SUNSET STATION

Edwin McCain
Venue: Club Madrid
Date: Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020 at 8 p.m.
Ticket Prices: $32.50 plus applicable fees
Artist Info: Called the “great American romantic” by the New York Times, Edwin McCain has built an enviable career over the past 20 years by balancing his massive pop success with the year-round touring schedule of a tireless troubadour. His hit songs, authentic spirit and surprisingly affable sense of humor keep fans coming back time and time again for nights that feel more like parties with old friends than rock concerts. After recording two of the biggest love songs in the history of pop music and experiencing the success that comes with a television show on Animal Planet (Flipping Ships), McCain now performs upwards of 100 shows annually throughout the US as a solo artist, with his full band or his acoustic trio. Recently, he’s added orchestras to his repertoire, performing with symphonies in select markets where he brings his powerful songs to majestic new heights.

Those enduring love songs (and wedding must-haves) “I’ll Be” and “I Could Not Ask For More” aren’t just for the romantic at heart; “American Idol” and “The Voice” contestants turn to Edwin’s ballads every single year to help them win over judges and fans alike (just ask last season’s AI winner, Nick Fradiani). Even Justin Bieber has been known to belt out “I’ll Be” during his own concerts. 2018 marked the 20th year of the success of “I’ll Be,” which topped the Billboard charts in 1998 and has proven to be a timeless classic over the past two decades.

Once they began headlining in the States, Wishbone’s opening acts included Springsteen, Kiss and Aerosmith. Citing Wishbone Ash as an influence on their style, Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden, Southern Rock outfits like Lynyrd Skynyrd and, more recently, heavyweights like Opeth and some of the guitar-based Indie/ Alternative bands, have all taken a little something from the legendary twin-guitar approach of Wishbone Ash. Truly, there is no other rock band on the planet that has done more with the twin guitar concept than the Ash.
