HOURS

The Springs Preserve is open Thursday-Monday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Hours may vary for classes and special events. The Springs Preserve is closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. The Nevada State Museum is open Thursday-Monday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The Springs Café is open Thursday-Monday, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

 

ADMISSION

General admission for Nevada residents with ID is $9.95 for adults, $4.95 for children ages 3 to 17, and free for children 2 and under.

 

General admission for non-Nevada residents is $18.95 for adults, $10.95 for children ages 3 to 17, and free for children 2 and under.

 

General admission includes access to the Nevada State Museum. Special event and class admission prices vary and can be found at springspreserve.org.

 

SPECIAL EVENTS

Butterfly Habitat

April 6-May 27

10 a.m.-3 p.m. (last entry at 2:45 pm)

Wander through our unique Butterfly Habitat and witness the fascinating dance between free-flying butterflies, the plants that sustain them, and their important role as pollinators in the ecosystem. Dates for this seasonal attraction may vary depending on weather. Members receive early entry at 9:30 a.m. Check the Springs Preserve website for updates. Free with general admission or Springs Preserve membership.

 

Nuwu Pahsats Speaker Series

Saturday, April 13

4-6 p.m.

The Nuwu Pahsats (Southern Paiute Garden) Speaker Series provides a space for Indigenous Knowledge Givers to share their cultural lifeways and experience with the greater community. Emphasizing sustainable relationships with water, plants, and the landscape, the speaker series creates an opportunity for collaborative, community-based learning. This event will feature Dr. Michael Kotutwa Johnson, Assistant Specialist-Indigenous Resiliency, School of Natural Resources and the Environment, Indigenous Resilience Center at the University of Arizona, who will speak on the topic, “Indigenous Ingenuity: Redefining the Relationship and Moving the Path Forward.” The speaker’s event is free. Registration is required.

 

DRI Science at the Springs–The Story of Resilience

Thursday, April 18

6-8 p.m.

DRI Science at the Springs is a multimedia, science storytelling series that explores environmental research, personal narratives, and climate solutions. This lecture will explore the critical topic of climate resiliency and community solutions. You’ll gain valuable insights into the science-backed approaches and community-driven actions that contribute to a sustainable, resilient future in the face of climate change. Admission: $10. Earth Day Celebration

Saturday, April 20

Celebrate Earth Day at the Springs Preserve, where Every Day is Earth Day! Bring the whole family for fun and educational explorations of our campus—a living example of sustainable lifestyles, design and architecture. Our celebration will feature conservation-focused exhibits and attractions, environmental and green industry exhibitors, eco-friendly craft activities, and opportunities to learn how you can help ensure a sustainable future through resource conservation, pollution prevention, waste reduction and natural resource protection. Free with general admission or Springs Preserve membership.

 

Dinosaur Explorer

May 25-September 2

9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily

Our newest hands-on exhibition, Dinosaur Explorer journeys through the wildest, wackiest, and most wonderous dinosaurs and examines human physiology through the lens of these magnificent creatures. Although they lived millions of years before us, dinosaurs adapted to not only survive, but to thrive on planet earth. Whether it be feeding or family dynamics, intelligence or interpersonal relationships, Dinosaur Explorer asks: where do we see similarities in our world today? Join us as we explore, compare, and create a whole-new understanding of the most fascinating living organisms in known history. Presented by Imagine Exhibitions. Springs Safari: Native Plants

Join us on a safari-like mission to explore the beauty and diversity of native Mojave Desert plants! Dive into an adventure of discovery, as you experience local nature firsthand. Free for members or with general admission.

 

Conservation for Kids: Guardians of the Garden

Saturdays & Sundays, 1 pm

Beetles, bees, and bugs – oh my! Come to Conservation for Kids and learn all about some excellent insects and how they maintain not only our gardens, but how they protect and conserve our regional ecosystems. Free for members or with general admission.

 

Spring Preserve Badge Class: Botany

Saturdays & Sundays 2pm

How does a seed become a plant? How are desert plants different than plants in other ecosystems? Learn this and more while earning your April Nature Exchange Badge! Free for members or with general admission.

 

Toddler Time Kids’ Activity

Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays

11 a.m.-12 p.m.

Bring your little ones to the Springs Preserve for kid-friendly fun with a new theme every week! Recommended for ages 5 and under. Free for members or with general admission.

 

Drop-in Demonstrations (Daily)

Learn more about Springs Preserve and the world around us with free and fun activities throughout the property. Meet with our experts as they share information on a variety of subjects ranging from Archaeology, Gardens, Zoology and more!

 

Ride the Train

9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Jump aboard the Boomtown Express, a guided, narrated ride on our life-size locomotive. The train stops at Boomtown 1905, a recreated streetscape of early-1900s downtown Las Vegas. Free with admission or membership to the Springs Preserve. The train schedule is subject to change based on weather, road conditions and special event availability. WaterWorks Museum

WaterWorks is an interactive, behind-the-scenes look at the inner-workings of water-resource treatment and delivery in Southern Nevada. Learn about the challenges and triumphs of the journey of water. The exhibit, located in the Charleston Heights Pumping Station, is presented by the Las Vegas Valley Water District, Southern Nevada Water Authority and Springs Preserve, in partnership with ONE DROP™, with contributions from the RBC Blue Water Project and Springs Preserve Foundation. Free for members or included with general admission.

 

Boomtown 1905 Experience

Step back in time with a visit to Boomtown 1905, a recreated early Las Vegas streetscape. Explore historical re-creations of the original train depot, Arizona Club, Majestic Theatre, First State Bank, Lincoln Hotel, and mercantile. Encounter interpretive, interactive exhibits and period décor to learn about early-1900s Las Vegas. Free for members or included with general admission.

 

SPRINGS CAFE

9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

The Springs Café offers exceptional sammiches, salads, brunch, burgers and libations at the Springs Preserve. Made from fresh, healthy ingredients, menu items include vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.

Springs Preserve Membership

Springs Preserve memberships are the perfect way to share the Springs Preserve with family and friends and are available online or at the Springs Preserve Ticketing Office. All memberships include year-round Springs Preserve and Nevada State Museum access, discounts for activities, select events, Springs Cafe and The Springs Preserve Gift Shop. Individual membership is $30, and a Value Family membership is $60 which includes two adults and up to six kids under 18. Donor memberships are also available.
